What We Do

HEALTH

The Health Programme of the Ovie Brume Foundation is designed to promote the physical, mental, and social wellbeing of beneficiaries through sports, recreational activities, health education, and community outreach initiatives. The programme encourages healthy living, discipline, teamwork, and personal development while creating safe and engaging spaces for children and young people to grow confidently and actively.

Through Taekwondo classes, beneficiaries are introduced to the principles of discipline, self-control, fitness, focus, and self-defense. The training helps students build confidence, resilience, respect, and physical strength while encouraging positive character development and mental alertness.

The programme also incorporates sports activities, particularly football, where beneficiaries participate in regular training sessions, team-building exercises, and recreational matches. These activities help promote physical fitness, teamwork, leadership, healthy competition, and social interaction among students while encouraging active lifestyles and emotional wellbeing.

In addition, beneficiaries engage in indoor and recreational games such as chess, checkers, ludo, and other educational games that help improve concentration, strategic thinking, patience, problem-solving abilities, and social engagement. These activities provide opportunities for both learning and recreation in an enjoyable and interactive environment.

Beyond sports and recreation, the programme organizes medical outreaches and hygiene sensitization sessions aimed at promoting health awareness and preventive care within the community. Beneficiaries and community members are educated on personal hygiene, cleanliness, healthy habits, and basic health practices that support overall wellbeing and disease prevention.

Overall, the Health Programme promotes holistic development by combining physical activity, health education, recreation, discipline, and community engagement to help beneficiaries build healthy lifestyles, positive habits, and strong social values.
