The Ovie Brume Foundation was established in 2003 by his family to commemorate the memory of Ovie by supporting his commitment to Nigeria’s development. At the core of the foundation is its Youth Centre, which provides young people with a wide range of recreational, social and educational opportunities, through which they are encouraged to develop positive attitudes; discover their innate gifts and talents; recognize opportunities that are available to them, and reach higher levels of achievements in all their endeavours.
For over two decades, the Ovie Brume Foundation has provided a safe and nurturing environment where young people can discover their strengths, find their voice and access opportunities that allow their potential to unfold.
More than a place of learning, we are a community that consistently shows up for young people, offering the freedom and support to be curious, and the encouragement and exposure to dream beyond their circumstances. As their sense of themselves and the world expands, they recognise their capacity to contribute meaningfully to the world around them.
Making Things with Our Hands
Project 20 Hands On began in May 2023. The “20” signifies the year we stepped into this vision, and “Hands On” speaks to the dedication and craftsmanship poured into every piece we create.
Educating the Next Generation
Since its inception, the program has delivered measurable results and has distributed full educational scholarship and support to over 50 outstanding and deserving beneficiaries.

The Foundation provides free educational, social and recreational programmes and activities for under-served children from low income homes. We seek to support our beneficiaries in the attainment of their educational goals, equip them with critical skills and knowledge and provide them with enrichment and development opportunities.

Fatima joined the Ovie Brume Foundation in 2017, struggling with shyness and communication. Through Taekwondo, Information and Communication Technology and other Foundation programmes, she began to grow in confidence and subsequently received educational support through Project No Excuses.
Her journey went on to include awards, leadership roles and an internship with PISHAN. Today, she is a student at Ahmadu Bello University and describes herself as “bold and unstoppable.”

“The Project No Excuses scholarship scheme provides me with books and stationery every term, nutritional support for my family and myself. For instance, the food support has had a big impact on my family and I because it helps us maintain a well-balanced diet. The shopping also plays an important role in boosting my confidence and making me blossom every day. Not to mention the educational support, otherwise I would probably have become a drop out today. The scholarship came when all hope of my school continuity was lost.
