What is Project No Excuses
According to UNICEF, one in every five of the world’s out-of-school children is in Nigeria and access to quality education is hard to come by and can be expensive. Project No Excuses is a needs and merit-based scholarship program, that seeks to cover the annual cost of primary/secondary school education and provide health insurance, clothing and nutritional support to children who have demonstrated excellence in their studies, but whose families are unable to meet the economic demands of education.
Since awarding its first scholarship in 2012, PNE has supported over 50 deserving beneficiaries with full educational scholarships and wraparound support across primary and secondary school.
“The Project No Excuses scholarship scheme provides me with books and stationery every term, nutritional support for my family and myself. For instance, the food support has had a big impact on my family and I because it helps us maintain a well-balanced diet. The shopping also plays an important role in boosting my confidence and making me blossom every day. Not to mention the educational support, otherwise I would probably have become a drop out today. The scholarship came when all hope of my school continuity was lost. The Foundation has been the solid backbone to my outstanding academic achievements and they have impacted my family and me positively. I say a big “thank you” to my sponsor and the Foundation for giving me this opportunity of a lifetime.”
