Alumni students of the Ovie Brume Youth Centre who have successfully maintained a 2.5 GPA in a post-secondary institution for one year are eligible to apply for a scholarship from the Trustees of the Ovie Brume Foundation to pursue their tertiary education. This scholarship is administered by the Foundation on an annual basis.
Award Criteria for Project No Excuses Scholarship for Tertiary Institutions
Consideration for this scholarship is based on the following criteria and availability of sponsors for prospective beneficiaries:
Applicants must be outstanding alumni of the Ovie Brume Foundation Youth Centre
Applicants must be active members of the Ovie Brume Foundation Alumni or just graduated from secondary school
Applicants must have a minimum score of 65% (B3) and above in 5 subjects including English Language and Mathematics from one sitting in the West African Schools Certificate Examination
Applicants must demonstrate their financial need for the scholarship program or be past beneficiaries of Project No Excuses Scholarships at primary or secondary levels
Applicants must have a letter of admission from a Nigerian based government institution
Applicants must have 2 reference letters from former school administrators recommending them for the PNE scholarship
Renewal Criteria of Existing Project No Excuses Scholarship for Tertiary Institutions
Applicants must be active members of the Ovie Brume Foundation Alumni
Applicants must have contributed at least 72 hours of community work at Ovie Brume Foundation for mentoring and community development in the last academic year
Applicants must demonstrate financial need for support for tertiary education
Applicant must submit their last class transcript with average score of 70% (CGPA of 2’1)
Applicant must submit 3 reference letters from school administrators for scholarship
Applicant should be in the top 10% of their current class
Applicants must submit a short written summary of professional goals and aspirations
