OBF YOUTH CENTRE GIRLS ATTEND THE W.TEC SUMMER CAMP

Two members of the Ovie Brume Foundation Youth Centre were selected to participate in the 2017 Women’s Technology Empowerment Centre (W.TEC) Summer Camp, which held from 23rd July to 4th August 2017. The 2017 camp brought together 40 girls aged 13 – 17 years to encourage them to build and explore the possibilities of technology in creative ways as well as inspire them to get excited about STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) and groom them to be technology solution creators and innovators.

While in camp, the girls had the opportunity to learn programming concepts such as robotics programming with LEGO, 3D animation with Alice, etc. Other learnings included 3D design and printing, virtual reality experience, gender and leadership, Java programming, blogging, team building, etc.
